Terry Gips

Terry Gips works in photography, mixed and new media, and installation. Her artwork often addresses the relationship of technology and nature and has been exhibited throughout the US and internationally. She is also a freelance curator and former director of the fine arts museum at the University of Maryland in College Park. She received her Master of Architecture degree from Yale University in 1971 where she also studied photography with Walker Evans and Paul Caponigro.

She was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1985, a Creative and Performing Arts Award from the University of Maryand in 1993, and artist residencies at Light Work in Syracuse in and at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts.
