| Denise DuBroy |
My paintings have evolved over the years to a more abstracted composition inspired by both the external textures and shapes of the Black Hill/Great Plains Region and internal landscapes. However, my paintings are not narrative, nor literal representations and they develop without preliminary drawings. I am most interested in the adventure, the search and the tools I use. My personal goal is for my paintings to stir and evoke emotions, responses and memories from life experiences. I try to straddle the line between the emotional and the rational; the spontaneous and the controlled. |
